Anyone who thinks the same?
So, DS3 was my first Souls + RPG game. I was 11, had no idea what I was doing, and just stuck with the default knight sword the whole way through. Sister Friede, possibly the hardest boss I've faced in any souls game? (Haven't tried the elden ring dlc yet) But i just clinged to the default sword anyways cus It felt bad changing it since I've come so far. Took me plenty of hours but it was worth it.
Now, Elden Ring is great, but it’s just...easier. I know what I’m doing, I can pick good weapons, and it’s not as much of a struggle. Is it a good thing or a bad thing? I don’t know.
Choosing your own difficulty is fine, but it never feels quite the same as pushing yourself to the limit against a boss. There’s something pure and unmatched about the feeling of truly overcoming a challenge, where you throw everything you have at it. no restrictions, no holding back. What’s funny is that even though I was limiting myself in Dark Souls 3 through sticking to the base gear, it didn’t feel like I was. I didn't even realize I was doing it. And maybe that’s what made it so fun. A delusion where I felt like I was giving it my all to defeat a boss.
