Was it a mistake to play Elden Ring first?

I've been wanting to get into souls games, and Elden Ring was my first one. I absolutely LOVED it, and decided to try DS3 next. However since Elden Ring is just SO GOOD it just kinda makes DS3 seem worse in comparison. Is there anything DS3 has that Elden Ring doesn't? Was playing Elden Ring first the wrong choice?
