I cannot manage to defeat death, any help?

Bought dead cells a year ago then kinda just forgot about it then I download it again today and learner quite a bit but I don't know what to do, death boss is really difficult, how do I block it's hits properly how do I take less damage while I fight against him?

Any other tips for the game to become a better player?

I know in the screenshot I got some of the worst weapons (idk how I got their with just those)
