Why is everyone here hating on Kratos and rooting for asura?

I just don't get where this sudden love for asura is coming from, bro had one game that bombed and absolutely nobody Gave a shit about him back then but now everyone is acting like he is the better character and that he "deserves to win". On the other hand people seem to be hating on kratos because he can't destroy a planet or something.
