Hateful Auto Rickshaw Driver

This country is doomed!

I was traveling from office back to my home in an auto rickshaw. We got chatting and almost towards the end of the ride, the driver asked me “Madam aap Hindu ho ya fir Muslim?”

I told him, “Bhaiyya, mein Hindustani hu. Kyu, kya hua?” He replied, “Mene is bar 5 Musalman logon ko rang lagane ka pran lia hai.”

A little taken aback, I asked him “esa kyu bhaiyya?” He didn’t reply and laughed the situation off. I left after advising him, “dekho bhaiyya, agar bhaichaare me laga rahe ho aur samne wala insaan raazi hai, toh koi dikkat nahi. Par agar, khundas me laga rahe ho, toh ho sakta hai ladaai ho, aur fir aapka tyohaar ka din kharab hoga.”

I am heartbroken!!

Those who want to defend the driver or this behavior in general must first consider what if the other community starts resorting to such frivolity? Secondly, this is not even the best situation to be in from women’s safety perspective. What if I were a Muslim?
