Survey results and retirement changes

Hello again! The survey results as a whole can be viewed here. We had 677 responses, which is absolutely batty, and super appreciated. I'll describe the results and associated changes below. I'll also list vote quantities as [for:against: NA (if necessary)].

Section 1: Rule 15 tweaks.

Change current meme retirement policy to "unretire" debate topics after a certain time period, with moderator discretion in the event of extremely overwhelming or toxic topics.

56% [379:298] voted in favor of establishing a formal process to retire memes after a certain time period.

If you answered Yes to the prior question , should the time period be 1 or 3 months before allowing the topic to be posted again?

3 months of retirement won 43% of the vote [281:109:255]

These two votes combined, this means that moving forward, any retired memes will be retired for 3 months instead of at moderator discretion. We still retain the right to withhold this for particularly toxic or repeat issues (which currently stands with only Snitties, Guns and Wheelchairs). As part of this, I'm reallowing memes about level 20 shopkeepers, since those were retired in April and are now due. I may also change the verbiage from retirement to something more fitting (make your sugestions in the comments lol). Extra note, there was some extra responses with one or two votes for assorted time options, as there was briefly a period where this answer had an open response "other". My apologies to those voters.

At the point of meme retirement, do you want a megathread to be established?

68.5% in favor [464:213]. Not much extra to discuss on this, I'll make any retirement post a megathread for further memes and discussion.

Section 2: Specific Meme Template Retirements

Retire the template known as "Jesse WTF are you talking about"

With 56.8% percent of the vote in favor [383:291], The Jessie meme will be retired. In addition, the meme retirement was voted to be temporary with 32% in favor [215 temp: 180 perm: 276 NA]. After this trial period and a brief return (1-3 months probably), I'll send another poll out to see if the change is favored or not

Retire Memes about Horny Bards

With 52.5% in favor, HornyBardMemes are retired [352:319]. In addition, with 29.6% of votes this retirement is considered permanent [197 perm: 159 temp: 309 NA]

I've taken the liberty of setting up /r/HornyBardMemes as a potential overflow sub for such content.

Retire meme template "We are not the same"

With 58.4% against [280:393] This meme will not be retired

Retire all Stonetoss comics/ imagery from use in memes

With 50.8% against [325:335] This meme will not be retired

We received 86 free-form responses regarding potential meme topics and templates to retire. These will be shared with the mod group for consideration.

A 12 hour grace period will be given to Jesse Memes and Horny Bard memes before their retirement.

Thank you for participating. Rule updates and wiki changes will occur shortly. Some of these votes were close, so please be civil in discussion.

Your Friendly Meme Grinch.
