Difficult decision with Deferred Resignation Program
I was given an extension to the DRP until this Monday. I was on maternity leave until last week and I guess I qualify for an extension.
I am 39yrs old and have over 17 years of service. I am struggling with the decision. I switched over agencies few years ago just because of telework - I have over an hour commute each way. With the new baby, I was really banking on flexibility instead of being away from home for over 12 hours :(
Is anyone in similar situation? I will probably be able to find a remote job in the private sector, and I can swing few years as a sahm. But I am scared that I won't be able to re-enter the government and lose out on retirement benefits.
What are the new moms deciding to do? TW/ hybrid schedule was such a great benefit, especially to new parents. I feel so unmotivated :(
