Considering Filen

Hello everyone,

I'm currently subscribed to the Onedrive yearly plan, but after all the crap that's been going on with Microsoft I've been considering switching, they have automatically switched my plan from 69€ to 99€ without warning a few days ago and that was my last straw, I could revert to 69€ but they have lost my already weak trust for them. I'm considering switching to a different cloud storage solution and I've heard a lot of good things about Filen. I'm also paying for Proton right now and my subscription includes their drive, but it looks like it's very limited compared to other solutions. I have also considered Google One, but they lack any plans in between the 100GB and 2TB and I want to avoid overspending...

I have also seen they're based in Germany, which is really close to me, I expect with them to be able to access and upload my files faster.

What I need is to:

• Share word and excel documents to others to work in real time
  • Does filen allow to create shareable links to files?
  • Do shareable links require users to be logged in to modify the files? Or can guests modify files?
  • Does Filen's platform allow to easily work in real time with multiple people on files like word and excel(or other similar formats)? (I'd expect up to 2 people in my case)
• Share folders to allow other users to upload/edit any files within
  • Are shareable links to a folder supported? Can passwords be set?
  • How much control does Filen allow on permissions when crearing a shareable link to a folder?
  • Does Filen require for a user to be logged in to upload a file to a shared folder? Or can a link with a password be created for guest users?
• And other questions I have
  • In Windows, can Filen be mapped as a folder/drive and save all files in offline mode?
  • How well is Filen integrated with Linux?
