C8+ with SFT-40/3V8A buck driver is a beast! It also gets HOT!
It achieved an incredible 936 meters or 3070ft of throw with 219070cd.
I also ran it on "turbo" for 10 minutes while monitoring the output.
2 minutes into the test and the temperature was already at 123degF/50.5degC at the head and 105degF/40.5degC at the body while still maintaining 100% output.
2 more minutes later and the light is still able to maintain 86% output with a temperature of 140degF/60degC at the head and 127degF/52.7degC at the body.
Right at 4m26s it begin to rapidly drop output when the temperature reached 144degF/62.2degC at the head. Right at 4m45s the light has dropped to 72% of its max output.
At 5m50s the output drops to 65% as temperature reaches 145degF/62.7degC at the head.
It held 65% of its output the rest of the 10 minutes test, reaching a maximum temperature of 149.7degF/65.4degC at head and about 130degF/54.4degC at the body.
I'm really surprised that it was able to hold more than half of its output despite reaching temperatures beyond the limits.
I'm still not sure if the output decrease from 100% to 86% was either due to temperature or voltage drop as it slowly decreased. I'll update on this later.
