Review of my Caesars Complimentary Stay at Atlantis Bahamas

I'm tier Diamond Elite on Caesars which was pretty much all earned through the sportsbook (I'm in NY) and Caesars gives complimentary stays to members that have a status of Platinum and above, with the quality and comps of your stay increasing with your status. Since I booked my trip a few months ago I've asked a couple of questions on reddit about it seeing if anyone had done it and what I should expect and a couple of people asked me to let them know how my trip went and if its really "free" or are there unexpected strings attatched like if you're required to gamble or not, I wanted to post a review in here. I just got back from my trip a few days ago, I wanted to give an update incase anyones curious or interested in doing the trip themselves.

Caesars offers Diamond Elite members a 5 day complimentary stay at The Cove at Atlantis Bahamas, along with no resort fees AND $250 of slot freeplay at the casino. This offer is for the off-peak months of September, October, and I think May and the offer changes depending on when you wanna go, for example, going in July will only get you a stay at the Royal hotel (a slight downgrade from the Cove) and you may have to pay resort fees. Unfortunately, Atlantis is NOT an all inclusive resort and obviously the food is expensive, however, this was something that I was aware of and prepared for. Also, Caesars does not pay for your airfare or travel to the resort so those are all expenses you should be prepared for

When I wrote on reddit about my upcoming trip that I booked a couple of people asked my the same question which was "are they requiring you to gamble in the casino a certain amount when you're there?" and I would say as far as I know, no, and they're actually giving me freeplay when I get there. About a week before my trip me and my girlfriend who was going on the trip with me started to get a "too good to be true" feeling about our stay and felt that there had to be some sort of catch to be given a $3000 value of complimentary rooms (The Cove is very nice and expensive and this is what the room rates were for 5 nights at the time). We then saw a term on the confirmation email at the bottom that said something along the lines of "If your rooms are complimentary and you do not play up to your standard of play, you may be charged for some or all of your room costs" and I got worried about this. Although I do gamble frequently, I didnt want this trip to be a gambling "showcase" and have this looming threat over my head that if I didnt wager a certain amount of money I was gonna get whacked with a $3000 bill at the end. Keep in mind I was also staying at the most luxurious hotel at the resort and am Diamond Elite on Caesars which took a lot of time and wagering so I was worried about what standard of gambling they were going to hold me to. However, I called the next morning to get more info about this and I spoke to the casino department and they told me that this was no longer required for Caesars guests and the terms of the email are just sent to everyone and doesn't necessarily apply to everyone. So this was a big sigh of relief for me and I also double checked and clarified with the front desk as I was checking in and they confirmed this to me.

So that aspect of the stay was my biggest concern but I ended up not having to worry about it at all. I still played in the casino and lost, but I was happy that I wasnt forced to be there like some people suggested they may require. Some reviews of the trip online mention a 4 hour over the duration of your trip requirement to avoid getting charged but maybe they have done away with that. Or maybe it depends on your tier level and what time of year you go so if you do plan on going I would look into this before.

Overall, the trip was awesome and went very smooth. The resort and especially the Cove is beautiful and there were no unexpected fees or hoops to jump through and this trip is another reason why Caesars rewards program is the best, and you get this comp trip once a year as long as you maintain your status.

Costs of the trip:

Flights- $400

Food: $600 for 5 nights of eating out at restaurants and getting drinks throughout the day

Casino: Lost $800 (more than I wanted to but oh well)

Taxis from airport and back: $50 each way, book a shuttle before hand, much cheaper and I should have done that from the start

Anyone has questions feel free to ask away
