I’m petsitting guinea pigs while neighbors are away for 2 weeks. How do I get them less nervous?

I’ve sat by their cage, cleaned and put food down, and I try to move slow and talk softly but after 2 days they absolutely flinch and bolt at my slightest movement towards them. Help! (I know nothing about guinea pigs other than the instructions given)
