Talk me out of buying a Metalzone
I saw an ad for an MT-2 in a nearby pawnshop (90 euros, no box or user manual). I'm a bedroom player who's looking to build himself a small pedalboard which would be plugged into the clean channel of whatever backline amp would be available in either festival-type local gigs or shared rehearsal places.
I'm currently using a DS-1 boosted with an HM-2 (non-chainsaw tone, volume a bit higher than unity, cut lows, boosted highs and gain at zero). I've also got a Monte Allums-modded SD-1 which is used last in the chain to boost volume and add mids for solos and leads. The MT-2 would replace either the DS-1 as the main gain stage or the HM-2 as a clean boost because of its EQ options.
What do you folks have to say?
