Help with my cactus

I notices a few of these little grey things on my cactus. It's so small I can't get a decent pic, but I did take a bit off, and it was gooey inside, pretty sure it's an insect or something?

I would appreciate it if anyone know what it could potentially be as I have looked through Google and couldn't quite work it out.
