Midea Duo 14000 BTU Inverter Portable AC (MAP14S1TBL) has to be drained every hour
I purchased a Midea Duo Portable AC last year around October. Somebody posted a cool pic of the inside of one here. For some reason, this unit has to be drained every hour while on Cool mode.
The unit has a dehumidifier function when set on "Dry" mode, and it also has a heat pump when set to "Heat" mode. In these modes, I would completely understand that it would need to drain the unit fairly often. But to my knowledge, the Cool mode should rarely need to be drained as theoretically it should evaporate through the exhaust part of the dual hose system. Yet, in Cool mode it gives me a P1 error every hour or so it's on and lo and behold, I'm draining a ton of water. I mean, how does it produce so much condensate? Physics, man...
By the by, I'm in Southern California in case you want a humidity gauge.
There's two drainage holes. One on top, and one on the bottom. Both of them fill up, though my understanding is the top drainage hole is for the condensate that's collected to be evaporated through the hose leading outside? I'm guessing. Either way, I've tried emptying just the bottom. I've tried emptying both. They just loved to be emptied every two seconds.
Anywho, I'm wondering if there's some sort of setting I'm missing, or perhaps I'm understanding something wrong. If I need to drain this every hour to cool a bedroom, things will get old super quickly. In that case I would like a recommendation on a dual hose portable AC that doesn't require me to "empty the pan" so frequently.
I noticed on Amazon that there are several reviews that mention this.

Any insight into this issue would be very welcome~
