How about some controversy?

This is a safe space, so what are your guilty Iron Maiden pleasures, or controversial opinions? - Mine is that I genuinely really like the Dance of Death cover. I get what Steve was going for with the twisted nightmare feel, and I'm comfortable with it being an impressionistic interpretation. It's unfinished, twisted and clearly blurs the lines of reality, the contrast of Eddie being 'complete' suggests he has control, power over it and is unaffected by the distorted nightmare that the other figures are clearly consumed by. That for me, makes the Dance of Death Eddie one of the most 'unsettling' in part due to his calmness. There is another interpretation that closer reflects the meaning of the title track, but it only slightly changes the narrative from nightmare to drug-induced hallucinogenic trance, which still works. So... There you go!
