There is no MF way
My store was one of the 'go-forward' stores, so this week is our first week of feeling the liquidation. Monday was much busier than normal, but doable. Yesterday was hell. I have no idea how we are supposed to do this. There are not physically enough of us working for the store to keep up with demand. It was worse than during COVID (and I am the only one still working at our store who remembers that time) and that is saying a lot. We had beat our Black Friday sales by noon on less than half the staff.
I have no idea how those of you at the stores that started liquidation early have done it. I don't get paid anywhere close to enough to deal with this and I am the second highest paid person in the store.
My SM knows that I am off the leash now with customers and supports it. Most customers have honestly been great though, even with the long lines. There was one yesterday though who came up to me with a zipper and asked for the item number. I gave it to her and then realized she had someone on speaker, and made me repeat the number to them. As the person on the phone started saying that they didn't have any of that item in stock I realized she had a team member from another store on the line. TM is trying to tell the woman there are only 3 of them and nobody has time to look for a zipper, and the customer starts bitching at her "SO I have to drive all the way to your store and look myself? I bet you wouldn't be telling that to a coworker!". Sigh
I just looked at her, and told her yes we would say that to a coworker, and we are not even answering the phone in our store. She literally tried to shush me while the TM on the phone said "Yeah I shouldn't have answered this call either." Hahaha
Unless this retention package they are supposedly offering includes a 10k bonus they can get stuffed.
