Can someone make me feel better about this sweater?
My boyfriend loves sweaters and I love knitting, so his plan this year was to go to Rhinebeck, buy some really nice yarn, and then I would knit him up this pattern he picked out. And I like knitting it, and I even swatched it, and my stitches are matching the gauge. But is seems like it's so gappy? So much light gets through it? Is it too much? All my previous sweaters have been fairly tightly knit, and I'm assuming it's a combination of it being a 2 ply yarn and the needle size but...is it going to be okay? Will the amount of light that gets through mean it's essentially unwearable without something dark worn underneath? I'm worried he bought nice yarn for nothing and I'm not sure whether to finish it, or find a new pattern for it?
Thanks everyone
