Best way to protect the MacBook Air M1

Before I begin, I know that many people are of the opinion that there is no need to protect your tool from scratches. While I see what you mean, I still choose to do otherwise.

I'm making a thread about this so we can share and collect only firsthand experience in using these protective options because I've seen so many people talk about things they've only ever heard happen (i.e., hearsay) but have never experienced themselves.

So I'm specifically looking for people with firsthand experience in protecting their M1 MBAs. Please share what you've PERSONALLY experienced. Like... Are hardshell cases really that bad? If so, what kind of damage did your MBA sustain? What brand did you use? Would you recommend skins instead? Have you ever had your screen break from a keyboard cover? What sleeve or case is your favorite? Stuff like that.

If you've only heard that cases can break your screen but have never seen it happen or experienced it, no need to mention it here. BUT if you have personally experienced it, please share it with us.
