Planning this weekend trip to Mangalore? Are beaches closed due to Monsoon?

Planning for 2-3 days trip to Mangalore and Udupi this weekend. Just wanted to know, if beaches will be closed due to Monsoon? is this worth visiting this time? also how is the weather now? Your suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks a ton.
