Thoughts on Hawkeye (And other things)
I've had some frustrating games in Rivals, but I have truly never been as tilted as I was the first time I fought a good Hawkeye.
As a Magik,I basically couldn't do anything. He had clear vision on the whole point and everything around the point, and could potentially one-shot me and any other character with less or equal health. It wasn't frustrating because I lost. It was frustrating because it felt like I couldn't play the game. So I switched to Iron Fist and spent the rest of the match trading with him.
I've played against snipers in hero shooters before but, honestly, it felt worse this time. Getting one-shot as a squishy wasn't new, but the frequency of it seemed so much higher.
I think it's the map design. Some maps are ludicrously open, giving give a massive advantage to snipers, with a nest that's really hard to get to unless you have vertical mobility. I might be crazy, but i think the way certain maps are designed massively advantages certain heroes over others. I doubt this is easy to fix (if it even needs to be) but I'm curious how the community feels about it.
