Dancing Lions, can anyone help this mode male sense?

The game itself provides little to no information and getting thrust into games isn't helping me learn anything. It seems I am always getting told "Cannot Carry Ball" while I then watch Starlord fly over my head with the ball and take it right into the goal. The other team just looks at me and I will drop the ball :-(
