Why is Spider-Man being constantly banned in competitive?

I genuinely do not understand why. I’ve been a Spider-Man main for a while, and I’ve never faced a single ban in my life. But I didn’t play the game for a WEEK, came back, and for 9 games in a row in Diamond II Console I saw Spider-Man getting immediately banned. I didn’t have a Spidey banner, hid my name, all that jazz. Is there a reason why this is suddenly happening? I’ve seen in the past week an influx of posts on this SubReddit talking about how much people hate playing against the guy, but I didn’t think he’d be such a regular ban pick.
