Maryland let’s argue… why do you guys HATE being considered southerners?
I’m from the south and had a hairstylist from Baltimore that would make rude comments about southerners every time I came to get my hair done. She would try to disguise her disrespect as a joke and when I called out the fact that Maryland is technically in the south she acted all surprised like she didn’t even know and said something to the effect of “Maryland is in the middle”. She was shocked when I stopped using her services and as much as she would talk ish about the south she also absolutely HATED Baltimore. Said she would never go back and told me she wouldn’t even recommend a visit. So my question is why do a lot of people from Maryland hate being called southerners even though you’re technically a part of it? Further more why would you move even further south if you really don’t like the region and its way of life. Make it make sense.
