Help me again! Best Fried Plantains

Sub so helpful on my last question. So I LOVE fried plantains. Tried at home by slicing and frying but not quite right. Too hard, not soft enough. So, I see some say to BOIL? first then fry? Help! How do I get those delicious golden yellow fried slices???
