What would you say is the best Illumination movie, and is it any good?

People often say the first Despicable Me was the best of the franchise and one of the best Illumination movies. What about you?

I have yet to rewatch a lot of Illumination movies to find out where I stand on this, but even then the only Illumination movies I watched as a kid was HOP, Despicable Me 1-3, and Minions 1-2.

I would say that out of all Illumination movies I have watched, the first Despicable Me is the best for me.

My take on Illumination movies is that they feel more like weekend/hotel TV movies you leave running in the background your mother watches while you play on an ipad. You don’t really take them seriously but to have them running in the background is nice and cheery.
