If Teams Were Stocks, Which Are You Buying/Selling Based on The Next 5 Years?
Hypothetically, you cash out in 2030 based on your investment today.
I have to say I’m putting a lot of money into Portland. I just have a feeling right now is the lowest they’ll be during this rebuild and the next following years they’ll show great improvement and they have a lot of good young talent. Toumani has all the intangibles to be a really great player, I think they have some pieces that can be flipped (Anfernee, Grant, Ayton ), Sharpe is only 21 , and I think Chauncey is the head coach before the head coach that can maximize the players potential (Mark Jackson in GSW, Casey/Monty in Detroit, Silas in Houston).
My biggest sell would be the Knicks. They’ve basically mortgaged any future to win now but they don’t really have the pieces to take them over the hump to win now. They look like a contender but I can’t see them beating the Knicks or Celtics in a 7 game series. They don’t have the worst future in the league but among the teams currently doing well and valued high in the present, I’d take my bet they’d be significantly not as good in 5 years.
