Are people overrating the Boston Celtics?

People are putting them 3rd in the East and I just don't see it. People think replacing Kemba with Kyrie(which is a downgrade) is going to make them BETTER? What absurd logic is that? I can understand saying the drop off won't be that big but I don't understand how they'll be better. Kyrie certainly contributed to the chemistry problems last year but it wasn't all because of him. Here are some other factors: Jaylen Brown thinks he's a max level player when he's clearly not. Terry Rozier was unhappy with his role. Gordon Hayward getting starters minutes despite being a shell of his former self. Jayson Tatum regressing/developing bad habits. Again Rozier and Kyrie are gone but that doesn't fix all the underlying issues.

Another thing that people like to gloss over is that they replaced Al Horford with Kanter which is again another huge downgrade. This is probably the biggest reason why they'll be so much worse. People underrate Horford's impact to be able to defend and shoot from distance all things that Kanter can't do.

If you and consider Toronto's record without Kawhi last year and the fact that the Pacers will have Oladipo back along with the Nets additions I think all of these teams along with Bucks and Sixers will be better. I don't see how the Celtics finish higher than 6th.
