Looking to get into the State system (TIPS)

I'm a 25-year-old graduating with a Master of Science in Education (MSED) in Mental Health Counseling, and I'm looking to break into the state system. I've been gradually applying for jobs with the Office of Mental Health (OMH) and have had a few interviews for Offender Rehabilitation Coordinator positions with the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS). I would love to hear any tips or advice from those who have navigated the application process or have experience working within these systems. Any insights on applications, preparing for interviews, or understanding the nuances of working in state roles would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
