Another Day Another Annoyance

I've had my colostomy for a year now after diverticulitis caused a perforated colon and sepsis which required surgery. Not a day goes by when I don't curse my bag and my situation. In a few weeks I see my surgeon to discuss the possibility of a reversal. I'm not optimistic though due to my weight. My question is does it ever get better? Does it ever become just another daily routine like getting dressed? Or does it just always suck for as long as it's there?
