CP and removing gallbladder

I went to a new gastro this week because my prior one would just tell me not to drink (which I am abiding by) and then leave, without much discussions elsewise.

I have had 2 AP attacks in 3 years from alcohol, but quit drinking after my 2nd attack almost 2 years ago. The new gastro hypothesized that I have CP due to my weight loss and slight discomfort in my abdomen, but thinks it will stay mild and manageable with abstaining from alcohol and if I stop vaping. However, he wants me to get my gallbladder removed because my MRI had shown I have sludge.

My question is if others have had similar experiences and was it the right decision ? Also, I've seen on here others said they have had AP after getting their gallbladder removed.
