I am in the process of buying Alternative Adobe Acrobat software because Adobe Acrobat is too expensive and it is mostly it is not perpetual license except for Adobe Acrobat pro 2020 and that is the last version of a perpetual license. It is $538.00!. That is crazy! No one in the world will spend that kind of money unless if you are a corporate/enterprise business. As a individual I would never spend that kind of money. So I read in Adobe that they will discontinue the perceptual license July 15,2024 which just past last month. The link is here https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-perpetual-eos.html. Below is what the link reads:

Effective July 15, 2024, Adobe will no longer sell Acrobat Standard 2020 and Acrobat Pro 2020 licenses in the Transactional License Program (TLP) and Cumulative Licensing Program (CLP) buying programs. We will continue to offer subscription versions of Acrobat in the Adobe Value Incentive Plan (VIP), VIP Marketplace, Large Government Agencies (LGA), and Enterprise Term License Agreement (ETLA) Buying Programs.

The last date for placing orders for Acrobat perpetual license products in TLP and CLP is July 15, 2024. Moreover, Acrobat 2020 will reach the End of Support in June 2025.

Who is impacted?

The end-of-sale date will impact customers and channel partners looking to place orders for a perpetual version of Acrobat. Customers who have completed purchases of Acrobat perpetual software by the end-of-sale date will continue to have access to their existing software per the terms of their agreement.

There will not be a new perpetual version of Acrobat beyond Acrobat 2020. However, customers looking for a desktop-only, non-subscription version of Acrobat can purchase a term license of Acrobat, named Acrobat Classic, starting on July 15, 2024.

Acrobat Classic is a term license of desktop software that provides up to three years of paid access to Acrobat software and is available as a one-time, non-recurring purchase. Acrobat Classic does not include ongoing Acrobat product feature enhancements or access to premium Adobe Document Cloud services through web browsers or mobile devices.

I am going to upgrade to Windows 11 next year since Windows 10 will no longer be supported on Oct 14, 2025. I currently have Adobe XI (11) and it doesn't support Windows 11 so I have to buy a PDF software. I have tried all the PDF software and it doesn't fit my needs. I have decided on these two software PDF Studio ($180) and PDF-Xchange Pro ($121). I went to both of these software website and it doesn't tell me what are the difference between these software has.

I tried BOTH software and BOTH are pretty good but I don't know what are the 2 differences are in the software.

UPDATE 8-2-2024: I just found my answer and I will have to go with PDF Studio because I can install on 2 computers and but 1 user. I can use 2 computers running the PDF Studio "same time". I have 2 computers but I am the only one using it.
