Why does Aaron Taylor-Johnson keep getting rumored for James Bond?

I’ve been a James Bond fan and a Aaron Taylor Johnson fan for a while but every few weeks, there’s another headline saying Aaron Taylor-Johnson is “confirmed” or “in talks” to be the next James Bond—but nothing ever happens. Does he even want the role, or is this just the internet refusing to let it go? (Including me) I go on google to ask this but I can’t really get a straight forward answer. Any opinions?
