11+3 No Ultrasound

We had our first OB appointment today and I thought it would be an ultrasound (we were both SO excited to see and hear baby for the first time), however, our OB only did a doppler to find the heartbeat. Is that normal? When did you all get your first ultrasound? We don't have another appointment for 4.5 weeks when he said we can "probably" look at baby (since we will be in a different office).

Don't get me wrong, I was SO happy to hear the heartbeat (and wish I had recorded it), but still a little bummed..
