WFH with hyper 4 month old puppy - advice on schedule please!
Hoping for some advice/example schedules from folk that work from home.
Our pup is about 4.5 months old, he is French Bulldog crossed with poss Lab/Beagle/Spaniel/who knows (rescue pup).
Up until this week, we have pretty followed the 1 up 2 down schedule, doing enforced naps. This week he has decided that he does not want to sleep past 1 hour/1 hour 15. He gets lots of enrichment, sniffy walks, training, snuffle mats, chews, kongs etc. Not too much in one session though, this is all spread out.
I would usually be getting my work done in the 2 hours when he was asleep, and this was working fine, but obviously now he won't sleep as long. I don't really want him to be crated unless he's asleep.
I read a post that suggested letting them try and self settle, so I sat in the kitchen on my laptop giving him free roam, and he had the option of a bed near me, a bed in his pen, or his crate which was open. He would lay on the bed near me for maybe 5/10 mins, but then would be up and about again. Basically, this dog has no chill and cannot self settle (which I know is tough for some pups, and we have been trying to do some settle training with him). He also started biting my feet/slippers and starting to get naughty, probably because he needed to nap.
I suppose I'm asking what people working from home tend to do with their pups who won't just lay near them, or at least entertain themselves?
