Any idea what to feed stray cats?

I don’t know much about cats but there are a few adult cats as well as a few kittens near my house lately.

As it’s really hot, I keep water out for them. I was wondering what little food I could buy for them to eat (both the cats and kittens) as they may move after it gets less hot and I’m scared of cats as well.

(Would not appreciate hate on stray cats or troll comments)
