Do I hand stitch or machine stitch these?

I am creating another patch for a crew neck sweatshirt I love. I didn’t use interfacing on the old patch and the stitches pulled through the base material after a few months. I have made several quilts before but always with squares, half squares, and strips. Hexagons are new for me and these 1 inch hexagons are smol. Would it be better to hand- stitch these with paper forms, or could I machine stitch them?
