People clowning the death of millennial culture brings me joy

See the millennial burger joint and related content trending on tiktok. Shit like:

  • Watching the office and friends like it's a personality trait

  • Lumineers-style stomp-clap music, sort of folk revival stuff

  • Pop art that looks like it was designed by Shepard Fairey

  • Loopy letters on wedding invitations and tattoos

  • Ugly tattoos in general

  • Lame social media trends like talking about how much you love bacon or coffee

  • "Keep calm and carry on"

  • Inoffensive but soulless taste in dress and decor

  • /r/malefashionadvice style of dress, for both genders. Lots of flannels

  • Trying to create or reclaim culture in changing times and poor economic circumstances by glorifying a small town/country aesthetic, but without community or religion

Think Barnes & Noble home decor circa 2010. Gen z has its own problems, and there were some subcultures popping off at the time, but I confidently feel that the post-recession 2008-2015 years will be seen in the same way we look at sixth/seventh century southern Europe or the late Roman empire, a minor cultural dark age.
