Voice chat for my kids
Hi all,
Question since I’m not an expert. Maybe this is not the right sub, but someone might know the answer.
My kids play Roblox together and sometimes play with a friend. Since they’re under 8 I’m not comfortable with enabling the VC function to talk with this one friend. I’m worried that they will (not intentionally) will hear others and offensive stuff. Is there a way to avoid this? Or if not, is there an easy way to have an other app running in the background where they can chat with their friend?
Greetings and thanks in advance!
Edit: Thanks everyone for sharing your advice. I definitely take your advice on NOT enabling VC within Roblox. I’m well aware of the potential bullying that can happen, let alone the 50yo virgins talking to my kids. Putting them in an open source chatroom was not my plan up front. I was hoping they could just talk to this 1 kid. Combining your advices and looking at the risks, I installed Discord. My kids aren’t adventurous enough the go and add servers and talk to strangers. They just want to laugh and talk to this one friend from school. Also: they don’t use headphones, and aren’t isolated in their rooms so I can hear everything.
Once again: thanks everyone to just care what happens to strangers and taking time to warn and advice. Much appreciated!
