Any negatives to your Samoyed?
Our family is off to the 'dog retreat' on Friday to meet all the dogs looking for a new home. They have taken in a bunch of Samoyeds recently, from 2.5 years down to 5 months. We're very interested in a 1yo girl, so looking forward to meeting her!
We live in Sweden, so the climate suits Samoyeds. Our understanding is that they will be a good breed for a busy family (2 kids 12 and 6, two cats) in that they are friendly, social, not inclined to consider cats as potential 'prey' (!), and don't require a crazy amount of exercise compared to some other larger breeds. There are many positives to this choice of dog, too many to list in fact.
So, to my question. Has anything surprised you negatively with your Samoyed? Something you wished you'd known beforehand, or that new prospective owners really ought to be aware of but which doesn't typically get mentioned in articles about them?
Thanks 😊
