Sheltie Fuji, who has never been loved
It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of Fuji, only 2 years old, a beautiful Sheltie who lived in Seattle and deserved so much better than the life he was given. Taken too soon by kidney failure, his story needs to be told. 🐶Fuji was adopted as a precious 2-month-old puppy, full of promise and hope. Instead of finding a loving forever home, he found owners who were completely unprepared and unwilling to provide the care a sensitive, intelligent Sheltie needs. 🦴Their negligence became apparent when they left him unattended on a high table, resulting in a fall that broke his leg. Rather than taking responsibility for their lack of supervision, they blamed the innocent puppy. When house training became challenging, instead of investing time in proper training, they blamed Fuji for their own failures. 🏠When the challenges became too much, they attempted to return him to the breeder for rehoming—but in a cruel twist, changed their minds after a new family was found. This indecision and instability only added to Fuji's confusion and stress. 🐕 After some time, they adopted a new border colie and totally left Fuji behind. 🏥The final injustice came when they shipped him to their home country, where he ultimately developed kidney failure and passed away, far from anyone who truly cared about his wellbeing. 😭Fuji never had a voice to defend himself against their neglect and poor decisions. He only wanted to be loved, as all dogs do. His passing is not just sad—it's infuriating because it was preventable. 🪽To sweet Fuji: I hope you're finally at peace, running free across the rainbow bridge, receiving all the love and care you were denied in life. You deserved so much better.
