To cockpit or not to cockpit?

I've considered switching to a cockpit a few times, but never pulled the trigger as there have always been issues that hold me back.

Now that I'm upgrading to DD it's even more tempting, but I don't want to throw money away on a monitor that would just sit on my cockpit.

Has anyone come up with a way to easily/quickly switch a monitor between their cockpit and computer desk?
