Since when did buying skylanders portals for Wii/WiU/PS3/PS4 get so expensive

I just bought Trap Team for the Wii U thinking the superchargers portal would work since It has a trap hole, but nope. So i look online for a traptanium portal for it and the cheapest I can find is 45 AUD. I thought Xbox was meant to be the expensive one but it is actually cheaper to buy myself a portal and the game for Xbox 360 instead.
