How do small businesses manage recurring payments collection in India?

Hey folks,

I’ve been looking into a problem that a lot of small business owners face—collecting recurring payments every month. Businesses like PG owners, tutors, gym owners,property rental and even freelancers spend too much time chasing payments, sending reminders manually, and tracking everything in Excel or WhatsApp.

I was wondering if there’s already a simple tool out there that: ✅ Sends automatic payment reminders via WhatsApp/SMS/email ✅ Handles automatic payment collection via payment links (UPI/Card/Net banking) ✅ Tracks who has paid and who hasn’t, with a follow-up nudging system for unpaid dues

Most tools I’ve found are either too complex, built for big companies, or don’t focus on small businesses that need something simple and easy to use.

So, I’m curious:

  1. Does anything like this already exist? I don’t want to reinvent the wheel

  2. If you run a small business like pg, gym, property rent, subscription based food services how do you handle this today?

  3. Would you pay for a tool like this if it saved you time and effort?

Also, do you think there’s a SaaS product that could be built around this problem? Would love to hear your thoughts!
