Need personal stories! male vs female HCM

I have put a deposit down on an upcoming litter from a cattery in Utah. I initially thought I wanted a boy because my past cats have been girls and have not been very cuddly or affectionate. However I’m really psyching myself out reading about HCM and it appears that it is less prevalent in girls so I am leaning towards a female cat. I have convinced myself that my cat will have HCM and i’m starting to regret my deposit because my heart would absolutely break if I had a kitty who died too young because of it. Can someone share their experiences please?
