State of A Life?

Coming back after playing 15 or so hours at launch and deciding to wait a bit for patches. I've been back in for a few hours and it seems much better so far - I can see enemies further off than before, and fewer random spawns seemingly on top of me.

Anyone mind catching me up on the state of things from the community's perspective, or pointing me to where I could do some reading on the current state? Thanks!
