LinkedIn Engagement Pod: Is it illegal?

Hi Everyone! I was invited to a “pod” which until now, I had no ideal what that was. My friend invited me to a group on Lempod - not sure if anyone’s heard of it. As far as I can understand, it’s built for a group of members to comment/like your posts automatically within the first 3 hours to catch, shall we say... viral trending. It manipulates the algorithm so that it appears like a solid piece of content (whether that’s the case, who knows) so that LinkedIn shares the posts with more people.

Seems a little sketchy... But I’m not sure it’s illegal. Does anyone have experience or insight into these “engagement pod groups”?
