Hydrasynth haters, show me what I'm missing! (polysynth recs ~$1500)
My bonus check came in, and I've decided to pick up another polysynth to keep my Hydrasynth company (or maybe compete with it). I’ve seen a lot of criticism online about its sound, and I’m curious: for those who really dislike the Hydra, what would you recommend as the complete opposite? I’m interested in trying something that goes against everything you dislike about the Hydrasynth.
Just to clarify, I’m not looking to start any debates or second-guess my gear because of online opinions. I’m simply looking for polysynth recommendations from people with a different perspective. I’m eager to expand my horizons!
Looking at a budget of around $1,500. I don't have a distinct style or anything, but I've mainly been writing goth rock, black metal, and vapor wave. And like any good person, I sometimes throw on a drum loop and and arp and sweep the filter :)
Edit: most likely buying used so I can get a little more bang for my buck. $1500 isn't a hard limit, but it's around the amount that I want to spend.
Edit 2: Here are the recommendations from the thread that I'll be looking into. Posting in case someone has a similar question in the future and doesn't want to read all the responses
