Help me make a decision
Put my in resignation letter today. Was making 72k. Going to work for a national MSP (but at a single location only). Current employer wants to double my salary to stay.
I know this sub is highly against staying put after a counter offer. Which I agree with in most cases, but apparently "they love me" and "I'm the best IT person they ever had". Sure you've heard that as well.
The new job would be about 115k. So now I'm faced with being that guy that would leave and take the gamble with the raise. Double salary is hard to say no too, you know?
We will probably move locations at the end of the school year in May or summer.
So take the raise and be that dude or just move on? Could make some bank and leave anyways in the summer. Would probably have too anyways.
One other thing to keep in mind. The main trainer guy is gone for a few months but will return late spring. He trained me and will train the replacement if hired. So I could just be lighting a fuse until it all blows up in my face in March.
What would you do?
