Just finished first playthrough of Part II and....

I think Part II is a better story. I think as far as gameplay goes it's also a bit better but the mechanics of that weren't as important to me as the story was. I think Part II takes everything that works in Part I and amplifies it and takes it to much, much darker places. Characters are more fleshed out, and it's that rare story where you feel for everyone involved, even the people you are supposed to hate. And of course, it's a very thoughtful and devastating tale showing how meaningless revenge ultimately ends up being in so, so many cases.

I hate how otherwise legitimate criticism got drowned out by misogyny and silliness. It's a wonderful, if harrowing experience.
