Why is everyone always so pressed about the actors in the show??

I remember when the show first came out everyone was mostly upset that Bella wasn’t a good enough Ellie. Which she isn’t, I love her acting and she makes a great Ellie, my only true issue with her is the fact they didn’t give her the side part, BUT I DIGRESS 😭

Everyone fighting about the casting is so stupid.

Yes, Bella is a good actor, but people have opinions, if they don’t like Bella, cool, just move on.

Yes Abby’s actor looks a bit different from Abby in game, but she still looks amazing and I’m sure she’ll make an amazing Abby, let people have opinions, they don’t like the new Abby? Who cares, move on!

It’s so annoying how (at least from what I’ve seen) half of the discussion is about how the actors don’t look accurate to their characters or how they just wouldn’t make a good version of that Character. Be glad we even got a show, and that we’re getting more seasons!

So many other fandoms I’m in, FNAF for example (I’m 15, let me be) didn’t get a movie until 2023, nearly a decade from the first games release. And yes, the same goes for the HBO adaptation, tlou not coming out until 2023 despite there being talk about a tlou movie way before that. Theres still always a lot of games/animes/etc that get hyped when they’re told there’s going to be a real life adaptation, or even just a normal movie/show and then don’t even get it. And if they do it’s years and years later. That could’ve been us with Tlou, being told we’re getting a movie, then it getting canceled and then getting told we’re we’re getting a show instead, and it could’ve gotten canceled too.

But it didn’t.

The show is great, the actors are great, the small changes that were added into the show that aren’t in the actual games was so fucking good, why can’t we just enjoy stuff for once without arguing and getting mad that someone thought this while you thought that?

Let people have their opinions and let people enjoy a show without telling them how inaccurate everything about an actor or even the show itself is.

Edit; I’m not saying not to give criticism to the creators of the shows, yes criticism is good, everyone should take creative criticism and use it to better themselves, their work, etc, and reach their full potential, I just meant I don’t understand why everyone’s fighting about appearances and their acting, again, criticism is good, but people were straight up harassing Bella for being Ellie in the first season, this sort of stuff is the start of a toxic fandom, and it’s just sad to me because the last of us is such a good show and game, it’s horrible seeing supposed fans harass actors for looking different from a literal made up character in a made up world.
